Update: Week of Feb. 17, 2013

This past Thursday was a great day of service:

  1. Tom Hollinghead cut down trees and did other prep work for the Men’s Ministry day of service this Sat. to 12
  2. Bill Woods remove a lot of limbs that had been cut down. Bill bring his own help and they do a great job
  3. Steve MacInnis installed a door in the Transformation Center
  4. Pinkard Vault and Monument for Troy removed the grave markers from the Transformation Center (They were display models)
  5. Robert Murphy, Barbara Murphy, Jeff Sweeney, Judy Houston, and Carolyn Travis primed 3612 & 3616 exterior with oil based primer
  6. Judy Houston got creative and painted a spot on the front porch of 3616 Erwin
  7. Bill Pace, Mike Romanowski, Judy Houston, Barbara Murphy, Robert Murphy, Carolyn Travis and Jeff Sweeney removed ceiling and nail and other debris from 3601 Erwin.
  8. Larry Summerlin and David Mixon installed door frames and trim in 3616 Erwin. Larry came out and served on Saturday
  9. On Monday, I moved five trailer loads of broken granite grave markers from the back of the Transformation Center. On Wednesday, weather permitting, I plan to move the remainder of the granite and also a pile of bricks from the behind the Center. Let me know if you want to join in this “extreme make over” of your body by moving blocks of granite!

I will send an e-mail update about our service plans for Thursday due to possible weather conditions. I will be at Garden Square Thursday at 8:30 a.m. rain or shine.Melissa Snowden’s Bible Study Group will be caulking, puttying and painting 3616 Erwin. We will see you ladies at 9:00am Thursday.

The Frazer Men’s Ministry will be coming February 23 to volunteer at the Transformation Center. They will clearing undergrowth and small trees form the fence lines. Looking forward to a great day of serving with the Frazer’s Men’s Ministry.

Great Day of Service: The Discovery Sunday School Class and Harbor Light Sunday School Class will be doing ministry construction projects that are TBA ( it is too soon to know what we will need done that day) and there will also be a GDOS sponsored Friendship Party with a possibility of 400 – 500 neighborhood friends attending.

Peggy Spaeth has new grandson, born last Wednesday. Peggy will returning to Alabama this week with her one year old granddaughter.
